Happy New Year, and welcome to a new edition of the Align Angle. With a new year comes new challenges and new opportunities. 2018 is certain to be another year of change, both here in Wyoming and around the country. Here in Cheyenne, The Align Team is embracing change with an updated look. We’ve completely redesigned our website to better showcase our services, our team and our mission.

At Align, we welcome the opportunity to provide value for our clients and others who take an interest in what we do. While our services are broad, our core mission is simple — to help improve your organization in some capacity. The Align Angle has always been a means for us to communicate ideas and share our perspective. We’ll continue to do so, but we’ll also be mixing up the format each month. This may include short video tips and tools, as well as links to additional information we’ve found helpful or insightful.

We would also like to introduce our two newest employees, Consultant Andy Worshek and Marketing and PR Coordinator Michael Pearlman.

Michael’s multi-faceted background in communications includes experience as a reporter, editor and content marketer for a large online retailer. He has lived in Wyoming for more than 20 years and will be implementing Align’s marketing, public relations and outreach strategies.

Andy brings an extensive background in organizational leadership and HR experience. He spent the past three years with award winning author and leadership expert David Marquet. Andy has spoken globally on leadership and is prominently mentioned in David’s book, Turn the Ship Around! He also helped David write the Turn the Ship Around Workbook, a tool that helps organizations implement Intent-Based Leadership. His unique perspective as one who served in both the follower and leader role with David gives him insight into both the challenges of implementing intent-based leadership from all levels, as well as the incredible results that come from practicing these principles.

What is Intent-Based Leadership?

The idea of a single, strong personality driving an organization from the top down has proven to be a highly successful method for achieving results in physical work environments where employees were hired mostly for the ability to do what they were told. But in today’s environment where we are trying to capitalize on intellectual expertise, that approach has yielded less effective results. Applying the same old methods of trying to control others, developing a few to be the know-all, tell-all bosses, and driving information to a single decision maker is resulting in a disenfranchised, unhappy, and unhealthy workforce.
