Align Clients

Align works with a wide variety of businesses and organizations, serving each in a different way. Here is a small sampling of our clients and what we do to help them be stronger and more efficient.

Wyoming Stars (Statewide Training And Resource System)

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)

LIEAPLIEAP is a federally-funded program that helps people pay home heating bills November through May. The program is open to homeowners and renters. It helps cover the costs of electricity, natural gas, propane, wood, diesel heating oil, coal and pellets when these are used for heating a home. Wyoming Nonprofit Network

WNNThe Wyoming Nonprofit Network represents the collective voice of the Wyoming nonprofit sector and brings best practices, resources and support to the nonprofit community so that each nonprofit can more effectively fulfill its mission. The program is funded by membership dollars. It is administered by Align.

“As a non-profit leader within the American Red Cross and as the chair of the Wyoming Nonprofit Network, Align’s support of the Wyoming Nonprofit Network is critical and invaluable to nonprofits across Wyoming.  The work that Align does to make the nonprofit sector healthy and ensure vital services are delivered to clients all across the state cannot be understated.  Working with Align, particularly Jody Shields, many non-profits have taken advantage of otherwise fiscally out-of-reach services like strategic planning, technological training and information sharing that make them more viable and sustainable.  Furthermore, without Align’s support of the Network’s pivotal work with our legislators and government partners, the nonprofit sector quickly loses its voice and often the resources needed to complete their missions.  Without a doubt, Wyoming and particularly vulnerable Wyomingites are better because of the strong commitment Align has to the nonprofit sector and the nonprofit missions.”

– Spencer Pollock, MEP, Executive Director of American Red Cross of Wyoming

Head Start services are designed to be responsive to each child and family’s ethnic, cultural, and linguistic heritage.

“For the past four years, Align has worked with the Head Start community facilitating the annual state level strategic plan. Align provided exemplary customer service prior to the strategic planning meeting breaking down complex federal requirements and building in focused opportunities for robust participation during the meeting. The final report accurately reflected the group’s input. The professional support provided through Align’s staff impressively covered a lot of ground in a very short amount of time. Overall, Align continually exceeds expectations and you can expect a polished, proficient, and pleasant experience in working with their organization.”

“As a membership organization comprised of professionals that volunteer their time for WEDA, we’ve always relied on a strong administrator to carry on the day-to-day work. Since assuming that position in 2014, The Align Team has proven efficient and creative. We value their interest in Wyoming’s economic development. What they didn’t know, they’ve been willing to learn – and to keep learning. They’ve also found ways for WEDA to generate additional revenue so that we can expand our services to members – and Align helped us create new programs. Getting to use the entire Align Team means WEDA benefits from all the talents at Align.”

Carpet One Floor & Home

CarpOne“Carpet One Floor & Home – Commercial Flooring provides interior design and a variety of other accessories for the home or business and has three offices located in Cheyenne, Laramie and Casper, Wyoming.  As we have been growing and changing we realized we needed some support of an outside consulting group that could provide the services we felt we were missing.  We were introduced to the Align team of professionals and were convinced immediately we could benefit by aligning with them.  One of the first services we took advantage of was an employee survey  to let us know what our team members thought of our organization. With the results provided we evaluated ourselves and determined some of our strengths and weaknesses and were able to discuss other services provided by Align that we could use to help strengthen our team.   We have been able to take advantage of and consult with them regarding human resource issues, team building, and corporate structure issues.  We have benefited and enjoyed the strength we have been able to gain with our relationship with Align. ”

– Doug Finch, President of Carpet One Floor & Home

She doesn’t let the tough issues slide by. She finds a way to get us through those conversations we need to have to be a better organization and move forward; all the while keeping it fun and engaging everyone in the group! The cooperative provides safe, reliable and competitively priced energy and services focusing on the needs of the membership. High West serves parts of southeast Wyoming, Nebraska and northern Colorado.

“Align has assisted High West Energy in a few different ways. First, they helped our management team identify issues affecting the organization. This was done very professionally and in a way that created a safe environment for our staff, some of whom began the process somewhat skeptical of where things were heading. Align also helped us work through some generational differences that arose due to having four generations in our workplace. And lastly, Align helped with a process mapping project associated with creating two new services. All three interactions were well done and the benefits are still accruing.”

– Brian Heithoff, General Manager at High West Energy

Wyoming Association of Municipalities

WAMThe Wyoming Association of Municipalities speaks for the 99 incorporated cities and towns in the state. The board of directors is comprised of 24 mayors, council people, city administrators and city clerks. The organization offers resources, peer networking and information to help each community serve its citizens. Align worked with WAM in 2014 to build a strategic plan.

“Boards who have worked together for a long time often see retreats as ‘fluffy stuff.’ They often want to get quickly to the TO DO list so that they can feel satisfied that they’ve accomplished something. It takes solid planning and a skilled facilitator to work with a board the size of WAM’s, which is made up of highly functioning and decisive individuals who are the leaders of their communities. To be honest, I had some doubts about the success of the strategic planning session because I was unsure how the board would respond, but trusted Phil’s expertise. He and I worked together prior to the meeting to identify the challenges, the elephants in the room, and ultimately what I need to get out of the meeting in order to be successful at my new position.

The retreat was a 2-day session held in Powell. The board was engaged and committed the whole time. Phil pushed the group’s assumptions and guided them to goal setting. Additionally, he had numerous effective group activities that ended with clear outcomes. This board had not had a retreat in more than five years, and with the change at the director position they were ready to talk about expectations and execution. They were delighted with Phil’s participation and guidance, and very pleased with the final report.
This was by far the best retreat experience I have ever had, and I eagerly and sincerely encourage other organizations to use Align for their organizational needs.”

– Shelley Simonton, Executive Director of Wyoming Association of Municipalities
